Workspace’s audio environment was highly inconsistent, relying on staff-chosen radio stations across its 40+ locations. This approach created disjointed soundscapes in key areas such as front-of-house, cafes, and breakout spaces. The music often clashed with Workspace’s desired atmosphere, ranging from overly casual or distracting tunes to mismatched volume levels. This inconsistency undermined Workspace’s ability to present itself as a professional, vibrant brand, creating a disjointed customer experience. Furthermore, without a cohesive audio strategy, the auditory environment failed to inspire focus and productivity, making it difficult to create spaces that were both energising and welcoming for its diverse customer base. Staff also found it challenging to manage the music setup effectively, often leading to complaints about the auditory environment being "too random" or "off-brand."
